Information for Referring Providers

Kelowna Cardiology Associates provide Adult Cardiology consultations and testing (defined as ages 17 and older).  All requests for Cardiolog consultation require a referral form (available here) and a specified urgency.

Please include a full description of the consult request including past medical history, current medications and any relevant cardiac testing to avoid delays

Please note our office can not accomodate urgent consultations (less than 2 weeks) due to current demand. Any urgent referrals will need to be discussed with the Cardiologist on Call through the Kelowna General Hospital switchboard. Examples of urgent consults include:

• New onset typical, exertional chest pain requiring stress testing

• New onset clinical heart failure

• New onset rapid atrial fibrillation (>120bpm) or symptomatic atrial fibrillation

Current estimated wait times are:

Semi Urgent (target < 30d ) - 1 to 3 month

Elective/Routine (target <3 months) - 10 to 12 months
